During the first couple of days this semester, students filled out their 'All About Me' sheet so that I could get to know them and their interests. Here is my All About Me…
I grew up in the Loganville/ Snellville area and still live there today. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Georgia in 2005 in Special Education, and I earned a Master’s Degree in Middle Grades Mathematics from Walden University in 2007. In 2009, I began a PhD program at UGA in Middle Grades Education. From 2009-2011, I was a full-time student and Graduate Assistant; I returned to teaching full-time in the fall of 2011. I am currently writing my dissertation and hope to finish my degree this school year.
My husband, Brian, and I married over four years ago in Steamboat Springs, CO. We share a common love for UGA and the outdoors. When I am not at school or working on graduate work, I enjoy running, hiking, camping, etc. This summer, my husband and I traveled to Bozeman, Montana where we fished, hiked, explored, and I even saw my first grizzly! I got to visit Yellowstone National Park for the second time, and it is one of my favorite places I have ever visited.
This is the start of my 9th year as a teacher. I began my career in Gwinnett County Schools where I taught for 5 years. This is my fourth year teaching at LMS, and it is so wonderful to call LMS home!
